A Portuguese soldier, who got stranded from his team during the La Lys battle, struggles by himself through dozens of German offensives so he can guarantee the safety of his companions.

Jaime, an introverted young man, suffers from the humiliations his schoolmates inflict on him. The father, director of the school, distant and of absolute power, treats him with indifference. With the support of his mother, Jaime finds in a painting, a boy with a drum in front of the troops in battle, the inspiration and the example of courage that will transform him into an unlikely hero in the fight against oppression.

Based on one of the short stories from the "Decameron", "The Convent Gardener" mirrors the story of Young Gardener Masetto and presents, in two separate parts, the story of a young man and a young woman who pretend to be mute in order to get a job as a gardener in a convent inhabited by several women and several men, respectively. Because the young gardeners are mute and, therefore, assumably unable to reveal the secrets of the convent’s residents, all the women living there take action to sleep with the young man just as all the men do to sleep with the young woman.

1986, just 12 years after the Carnation Revolution. The Left Wing is divided, while the Right seems on track for an easy win, which will give them both a President and a Government. The only one capable of stopping this victory is a man who fought his whole life against Estado Novo. Arrested dozens of time, deported and exiled, he was one of the first to arrive in Lisbon after April 25st. That man is Mário Soares.
