Peter wants to practice for an upcoming jazz competition with his friends Willi, Oskar, and Jupp. But his uncle Tobias, on whose farm Peter lives, must not find out about it.
Dark alleys, rain-soaked streets, wisps of fog—Harry Benson, a man of good character, is on his way home at night. Suddenly, shadows appear everywhere, strangers follow him, and eerie footsteps send shivers down his spine. He moves faster and faster through the city's alleys, but his pursuers remain close behind. Fearfully, Harry asks himself: What do they want from him, a harmless, inconspicuous citizen?
After high school the lover's Ursula and Gerhard paths part: she stays in the small town, while he attends university in Hamburg to become a composer. While she remains faithful to their love, he forgets more and more about her when he becomes successful as song writer for the famous singer Dahl. Disappointed, Ursula turns to Gerhard's former friend Peter.
Father and son have the same taste in women, but different tastes in music: both love the beautiful Linda, but while the father leads a successful dance band, the son wants to be a rock star. After an argument, the son leaves his father and performs first as a solo artist, then with a rock band. There he meets the lively Maxi.
