Gennadiy Ivanovich Vyrypaev (Russian: Геннадий Иванович Вырыпаев ; born 3 November 1994; Irkutsk) is a Russian actor and director. He is a first son of Russian playwright, director Ivan Vyrypaev (1974) and actress, theatre director Svetlana Ivanova-Sergeeva (1976).

The film follows two student cinematographers who, as the war approaches Moscow, refuse to be evacuated and instead volunteer to be front-line cameramen capturing the horrors of war and heroism of the soviet soldiers. At the same time, we witness another storyline taking place in the US. After the premiere screening of the already completed documentary “Moscow Strikes Back”, one of the members of the Academy Awards selection committee is trying to persuade his fellow colleagues to establish a new category of Best Documentary in the upcoming Oscars event.

A family living on the outskirts of Moscow are mired in quarrels, discomfort and mutual oppression. They spit negative emotions at each other, forgetting about love, compassion and God. A tragedy will take them through a belated catharsis.

1984, Sverdlovsk, USSR. A shy freshman, an entrepreneur, a poet and two charming it-girls navigate life in a student dorm, sharing their griefs and joys, all for one and one for all. Suddenly a horrible accident blows up the life of the dorm when a female student commits suicide. The dorm is a miniature model of the world that encapsulates the full range of human passions, acts of bravery and cowardice, aspirations for virtue and failures, of love, friendship and betrayal.

The action takes place during the first presidential debate. A Nobel Prize winner fights for the future of her country as a presidential candidate. At the same time, her brave and naive aides are fighting for her own future.
