Steve Lannon is a retired gunman and reformed-outlaw who has left his ranch and is living in seclusion in San Francisco. He receives word that rustlers are on the rampage in the area of his ranch, and have stolen his horse, Silver. Steve returns to Nevada to take care of this matter.

While vain Lenore Hastings busies herself with her romantic pursuits, Lenore's kid sister Mildred tries to keep the family of her boyfriend Thomas from going broke. Mildred works up a business arrangement, whereby she will sell Thomas' father's 250 pigs for a dollar each. Though Lenore is appalled by Mildred's "disgraceful" behavior, the younger girl quickly earns the respect of everyone in town

Rich boy Dick Wright, rejected by both the Army and the Navy because he is a sleepwalker, joins an ambulance unit during the war with his chauffeur and valet tagging along to protect him. They accidentally get aboard a regular troop train, arriving in France as members of the U. S. Army. Following a series of comic adventures with a hard-boiled sergeant, Ted and Sam succeed in capturing a detachment of Germans, receiving decorations for their bravery. Along the way, the boys engage in romantic interludes with Betty and Joan, respectively American and French.

A sailor and his would-be bride search their train for a clergyman to marry them.

A husband goes through a trunk in an attic and finds a memento that reminds him of childhood sweetheart. The pair grow up and marry, facing tribulations. At the end, back in the present, she comes to the attic with their kids.
