Combine harvester operator Vasyl Bylan decides to leave for the Volga region for the harvest right after his wedding. There he receives a commemorative gift for his labor. He wants to return to his wife, but the guys call him to the Altai - snow has fallen there and the grain is perishing. He helps harvest the grain and it becomes clear that without him everyone would drag it off to their personal barns...

A TV film based on O. Honchar's short story "Sunflowers" is a lyrical narrative about the village of the late 1960s-early 1970s of the last century, about its people, their soulful beauty and working days. A sculptor comes to one of the picturesque Ukrainian villages to create a portrait of the Hero of Socialist Labor Melanya Chobitko. The first meeting disappoints the artist, but seeing her in a collective farm field, the sculptor discovers her real human beauty.

Based on the play The Gypsy Azza by Mykhailo Starytsky. The gypsy Vasyl falls in love with the Ukrainian beauty Halia. He forgets his nomadic life, his mother, and the gypsy Azza, and decides to stay in the village for Halia’s sake. Halia, against her father’s wishes, marries Vasyl. But time will pass, and Vasyl will begin to long for the camp.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Ivan Hryhurko. The story is about the difficult life of young mechanics working on an irrigation canal in the steppe. Each of them has his own problems: a long-standing enmity, a prison past, family problems, and a complicated love for a single mother with a child. But the difficult remote work in the steppe forces everyone to change their outlook on life.
