A woman works as electrical engineer in a construction site where mostly Kurdish workers are employed. After the death of her brother in a clash during his military service, she starts to behave the workers including the illegally employed worker man who is secretly in love with her, like enemies.
A callow country doctor, with 2 brothers have a journey to another city for healing their other brother who’s in the jail. But they are in the Kurdish area of Ottoman Empire (1914), just before great war and Armenian genocide, they have to pass a vanished world before their brother died.
The medical team that came to the village in the late 1990s placed an intrauterine contraceptive device in all women with at least three children. As the men of the village sit down and ponder what the device worn by the women is, they conclude that the state has wired them through a series of misunderstandings. Until this misunderstanding is cleared up, everything in the village is set to change.
Yusuf and his best friend Memo are pupils at a boarding school for Kurdish boys, secluded in the mountains of Eastern Anatolia. When Memo falls mysteriously ill, Yusuf is forced to struggle through the bureaucratic obstacles put up by the school's repressive authorities to try to help his friend. But by the time the adults in charge finally understand the seriousness of Memo's condition and try to get him to the hospital, the school has been buried under a sudden, heavy snowfall. With no way out and now desperate to reach help, teachers and pupils engage in a blame game where grudges, feelings of guilt and hidden secrets emerge, as time ticks mercilessly on and threatens to run out.
Resho (12) and his 3 friends go to a cave to hunt some birds which is believed haunted in the village. Resho makes a joke to Memo who is naif and coward and scares him while they're in the cave. Memo passes out and doesn't wake up again. When they're back in the village, it's shaking with the news that Memo is struck by the evil spirits. While the prayer-exorcist is torturing Memo to save his soul from the demons, Resho suffers a pang of conscience because of this secret that he can't tell and leads his friend to the threshold of death.
