A documentary about the possible ties between H.P.LOVECRAFT and the Polesine region (Italy), stimulated by the casual discovery of a mysterious manuscript attributed to the great American horror writer died in 1937.

The Champions League Final, on 31st May 2001, in Rome. A football match unites men that have nothing in common with each other. The stadium becomes a modern Greek theatre, where five dramas touch one another, only to fade away in a few minutes. The main characters are, Simone, Alice, Gabriele, Pietro and Achille, all different types of people, of different ages, all looking for a place to find some peace and quiet, a taste of happiness and love, as well as someone to trust in. At the last stage people laugh, but there is always a bitter note to their laughter. And their laughter is louder and more satisfying the greater their adversity. Indeed, in the end, there is always a reason to go on, a final stage from which to rise.

Giorgio, married to Daniela, would like to take his beautiful lover Gloria somewhere to spend the night. So he asks his brother-in-law Marco, who is leaving for a week in New York with his wife Lucia, to lend him the house. Although Marco is a little hesitant, he eventually agrees. After a romantic dinner, Giorgio goes to Marco's house with Gloria to spend a night of sex. But the couple did not take into account Enzo, the boyfriend of Ilenia, the cleaning lady of that house, who, being up to his neck in debt to a loan shark, had entered the apartment shortly before with the intention of stealing something. Thus begins a long night during which all sorts of things will happen.

1997: A student of folklore named Andrea Roberti disappears after hypothesizing a possible link between the horror literature of H.P. Lovecraft and the dark folk tales of the Po Delta, a mysterious and remote part of northern Italy.

A group of actors meet with little money in a unofficial theatre in Naples' Spanish Boroughs. Director's plan is to travel to Sarajevo, still under siege, to stage a classic Eschilus' play about civil war in Tebe. While they rehearse in the theatre cast members come and go and another kind of war goes on every day in nearby streets of old Naples.
