Through the prism of a traditional Turkish rakı table, ERKEKLER (“Men” in Turkish) takes a look at gender identity and what it means to be and act the masculine gender. Two old friends, Ali and Haydar; meet after a long period of separation and catch up with each other’s lives. As is traditional with Turkish rakı tables, the conversation quickly turns towards heavy subjects like love and loss.
Reyhan realizes that she has lost her sense of smell during a short vacation. Although the possibility of a serious illness worries her, she will follow her instincts to regain her sense of smell instead of undergoing further tests.
