Handsome Laddie Stanton courts neighbor Pamela Pryor but meets opposition from her stern military father who has recently immigrated from England.

Delmar Spavinaw, an educated "half-breed," loves Evelyn Huntington, daughter of a racist judge. Evelyn's other suitor is Ross Kennion, a widower with one child, and owner of a vast tract of land which Spavinaw insists belongs to his Indian mother. Spavinaw seeks revenge when Judge Huntington decides to evict the squaw. Assisted by Juan Del Rey, a cattle rustler, Spavinaw steals the title to the land, wounds Kennion, stages a raid on the judge's cattle, and attempts to kidnap Kennion's son and Evelyn. The arrival of the sheriff forces him into flight across the border without his hostages. En route he meets Doll Pardeau, a school friend of Evelyn's, and together they ride for the Mexican border. Caught between a cattle stampede and a sheriff's posse, the couple catch a passing freight train, leaving calamity behind as the train slowly passes.

Irene, a young girl from a small town, arrives in New York City determined to make it on the Broadway stage. She meets up with Cookie, a worldly chorus girl who takes Irene under her wing. When Irene falls for young Ronald, his rival Crane sets out to break up the pair so he can have Irene for his own--and he doesn't much care how he does it.

Someone in India is deciphering secret codes and passing information from London's Downing Street to the natives, so Captain Robert Kent comes down from London to investigate. He disguises himself as a Rajah, and Colonel Wentworth introduces him to the colony.

Mistakenly believing his wife, Molly Dane, has been unfaithful to him, ship captain Manin Dane takes his young son Joe and leaver her. Twenty years later Molly stows away on his ship and he learns the truth and all is forgiven.

Art Louden, foreman of the Bar H Ranch, is contemptuous of the masculine city flappers and effeminate city sheiks who are vacationing on the ranch, and when reproached by the owner, Bill Hayes, for discourtesy to a guest, Art complains that there are no "she-women" left. Seeing a newspaper photo of Iris Millard, he is attracted by her apparent innocence; then she arrives with her father, and Art is disillusioned to find her as snobbish and as jazzily dressed as the others. His disdain, however, causes Iris to play up to his ideas.

Charley and his wife (Eugenia Gilbert) decide to teach a lesson to his brother (Eugene Pallette) who constantly battles with his wife (Anita Garvin). Through a misunderstanding, it isn’t long before the Chase’s knife-wielding barbarian of a cook (Bull Montana) thinks Charley has designs on his wife (Valentina Zimina).

Betty’s parents are eager to achieve financial security and believe she is their ticket to wealth. They are easily deceived by a villain who poses as a rich man by wearing expensive, hired clothes. Despite her parents' pressure to marry the "wealthy" imposter, Betty is in love with Jack, a young man who once saved her life. Jack is currently engaged to a society girl he does not love. Through a series of fast-paced gags and fortunate circumstances, the two lovers manage to outmaneuver the villain and Betty's parents, eventually realizing their ambition to marry one another.

Alice, an employee who is chosen by her coworkers to represent them at a banquet honoring her boss's new partner. Tasked with giving a speech and presenting a "loving cup" as a token of esteem, Alice becomes overwhelmed by her high-society surroundings. Her nervousness leads to a series of comedic blunders and a "terrible fall" during her act, though the situation is eventually salvaged.

Country girl Alice responds to an advertisement for a "movie school" that promises to transform her into a shining star in record time. Upon arriving at the school, Alice is immediately taken advantage of by the operators, who take her "bank roll". The school staff immediately begins a screen test to see how she "registers" in front of a camera, ordering her to perform various poses and emotional expressions to prove her potential.
