Imam Hasan, his wife Hacer and his daughter Fatma arrive at Karaağaçlı, a small railway town in the middle of the Anatolian wilderness. Besides carrying out the duties of the imam, Hasan will be teaching religion to the children of the town during the holy month of Ramadan. His unusual behavior towards his wife and little daughter arrests the attention of the townsfolk. Meanwhile Adem, the son of the stationmaster who is crazy for trains begins to learn about and get into a world he has never heard of before in the lessons given by Hasan: trains, sin, good deeds, heaven and hell.. everything gets jumbled. Condemned of being harsh and merciless towards his family, Hasan one day finds himself obliged to reveal the "secret" about himself and his family and this changes everything in the eyes of people. Yet there has remained another secret of which anyone, even Hasan is hardly aware. The people of the town, including Adem, will remember this Ramadan throughout their lives.

The film takes place on the holy "Mother's Day" and tells the story of the characters' 24 hours.

While Semra and President Ahi are reading their local newspapers at the Boğaz Körler Derneği (Boğaz Blind Association), an interesting development takes place that will change their lives. The ministry has sent a fax announcing its intention to participate in the Chinese Paralympics. This fax causes quite a stir among the association members. While jokes about choosing sports like oil wrestling and weightlifting continue, Zeki, who has grown up with the help of the association members, utters the word "football" with the desire to be like the sighted children constantly running around with a ball, which seriousness the topic. The proposal is "Rattling Ball," or in other words, a football team for the blind.

Muna is the 6-year-old daughter of a Palestinian family, living in Gaza. In fall 2009, their house gets raided by Israeli soldiers. When she comes out of hiding, Muna realizes that she's all alone. Not knowing what to do, she wanders the streets of Gaza in search of her family. During her search Muna comes across to surgeon Ela who has travelled to Gaza with Doctors Worldwide in order to aid victims of war. With the help of her colleague Ali and his Gazan friend Süleyman, Ela tries to find Muna's family. In their quest, the doctors confront the harsh realities of war.

Cengiz is the singer at a tea garden in Bursa and his greatest ambition is to release an album. Cengiz's life changes when he meets Taskin. Believing that the song composed by Taskin's father, Serafettin, would be a great start for his album, Cengiz buys the song using money he borrowed from his older brother. When Taskin spends all that money, Cengiz starts performing with Taskin and his sister Arzu.
