Engin Çağlar (28 August 1940 – 1 November 2025), was a Turkish film actor. His mother was born in Skopje. His father came from a family that had migrated to Istanbul from a small town on the coast of the Sea of Azov. His father owned a factory that manufactured industrial materials. He attended Robert College for secondary school. In 1958, he played football for a short time at Galatasaray. He studied at university in Germany. He was conscripted into the military in 1965. While serving as a sailor for two years, he was even stationed in Cyprus. After his discharge, he entered a competition run by Ses magazine and came second after Uğur Güçlü. That same year, names such as Kadir İnanır, Sümer Tilmaç, Demir Karahan, and Altan Bozkurt also participated in the competition. He began his film career in 1968 with Bilge Olgaç's film Öksüz. In 1969, he gained recognition by starring alongside Hülya Koçyiğit in the film Kınalı Yapıncak, directed by Orhan Aksoy. After signing with Hulki Saner, she appeared in films directed by Metin Erksan and left cinema in 1974. She has appeared in a few films since then but has not fully returned to cinema. In 2016, she was elected chair of the board of directors of the FİLMSAN Foundation.

The film tells the story of Murat, who grew up without a mother or father. A young woman living in difficult circumstances after losing her husband leaves her infant son Murat on a bench by the sea. Osman, who is fishing at the time, notices Murat and takes him in. Unable to find someone to care for Murat, he raises him as his own son. He tells Murat that his mother is dead. Years later, Murat and his mother's paths will cross unexpectedly.

Murat has to marry someone if he is to collect his inheritance. So his lawyer decides to marry him to an inmate on death row. Naciye, who is sentenced to death, accepts the marriage proposal. They perform the wedding ceremony at the prison. But things don’t go as planned.

The abandoned Fosforlu sing and dance in the streets to survive. She run into the once famous singer Kemal, who now is blind and have lost his memory. The two start to perform together. A surgeon enjoying their act offers to help Kemal out of his misery.

A neighborhood story with loves and fights.

Sevgi is a singer who works in a bar. Her boss Vural fancies her. Sevgi meets Selim and they fall in love. Selim is unaware of her job at the bar. Vural sends his men to Selim's father to tell him about Sevgi's job, thus prevents her marriage with Selim. Selim doesn't believe in all this. Vural shoots Selim out of jealousy, yet due to lack of evidence he gets released. Sevgi and Vural marry but she takes Selim's revenge in shooting Vural, having no reason to live anymore she shoots herself as well.

A vagabond pickpocket befriends an unfortunate kid from the slums, whose mother has been forced to work at a night club, and he tries hard to set up a brighter future for the kid by guiding him enjoy the life no matter what.

He lives in a poor neighborhood with his daughter Fatma. He has raised his daughter on his own. Murat has been in love with her for a long time. But he has not been able to tell her. Meanwhile, Fatma desires to marry a wealthy man. Her father's boss, Turgut Bey, convinces her that her dream will come true. Turgut has seen Fatma and likes her. Although her father opposes the relationship, Fatma does not want to miss the opportunity to achieve her dreams.
