While traveling in Europe Philip Quentin encounters his former sweetheart, Dorothy Garrison, and finds that she is now engaged to Prince Ugo Ravorelli, whom Philip recognizes as the man wanted for a murder in Brazil.

In this adaptation of Zane Grey's novel, adventurer Dick Gale (E.K. Lincoln) is traveling through the Southwest. He helps rescue Mercedes Castanada (Margery Wilson) from the clutches of notorious outlaw Rojas (Walter Long). Mercedes' fiancé, Captain George Thorne (Edward Coxen), entrusts her to Gale's care when he returns to duty.

Nina, engaged to a French captain, and Nancy, engaged to a doctor who runs an insane asylum on an island, are friends. When the doctor catches Nancy kissing the captain, known for kisses with a "heavenly kick," he breaks the engagement. In an effort to win back the doctor for Nancy, Nina pretends to be a bit "off" and becomes an inmate of the sanitarium.

A drifter falls for the daughter of a rancher, an alcoholic old coot whose ranch is on some very valuable land. When the old man is found murdered, the drifter is accused of the crime. He didn't do it, but he has to find who the real killer is and clear his name.
