Biography
Deven Varma is an Indian film and television actor, particularly known for his comic roles, with directors like Basu Chatterji, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Gulzar. He has also produced and directed some films including Besharam. He has won Filmfare Best Comedian Award three times for Chori Mera Kaam, Chor Ke Ghar Chor and Angoor, the last being directed by Gulzar and still considered one of Bollywood's best comedies. Born on 23 October (Unknown Year), and brought up in Pune, where he studied at of the Nowrosjee Wadia College for Arts and Science (University of Pune), (1953–57), graduating with Honours in Politics and Sociology. He is married to Rupa Gangly, daughter of late veteran Bollywood actor, Ashok Kumar and sister of Preeti Ganguly

Sau Din Saas Ke
Widowed Bhavanidevi rules her palatial home with an iron hand. Nothing is permitted to be touched or moved without her permission and approval. She has two sons, and one daughter. She dotes on her daughter, Shobha, and son-in-law, Khubchand. When her eldest son marries a young woman, Sheela, Bhavani is enraged because Sheela did not bring in enough dowry. To teach Sheela a lesson, she burns her foot, leaving a petrified Sheela submissive and open to even more abuse. When Bhavani's second son gets married without her permission, she is angered even more, and will not have anything to do with her new daughter-in-law, Durga. When Durga insists on living there, she is permitted to do so, not knowing that she has now entered a household where she will be another abused and submissive slave to her dominating mother-in-law.

Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka

Aaja Sanam
Dr. Satish travels from the big city to a small village, where he can serve the poor who cannot afford to go to the city for medical treatment. Once in the village, he meets with Shanti, who lives with her dad, Radhekiran, a watchman. Both Shanti and Satish fall in love, and exchange vows to be married. Radhekiran has an accident, and dies, leaving Shanti to re-locate, without notifying Satish. Satish is devastated at losing Shanti, and tries to locate her, to no avail. His parents want him to marry Kamini, and he agrees to do so. It is then he comes across Shanti, and he is shocked to see that Shanti has given birth to baby-boy, but will not disclose who the father is.

Kindly Dr. Gupta (Ashok Kumar) is preparing to retire, and hopes to marry his daughter Jyoti (Zarina Wahab) to his associate Dr. Anand (Parikshit Sahani). Anand does not have time to romance, or assist Dr. Gupta on his large egg farm, so he hires a college friend as property manager, Mukesh (Vijayendra). Jyoti is entranced by Mukesh, and against her fathers wishes decides to marry him. Mukesh has his eyes set on the good life, but unknown to Jyoti he is already married to Geeta (Sarika), whom he abandoned with a child when he found out she was Anpadh (illiterate). Dr. Gupta has an accident one night, injuring a woman named Geeta and brings her home to recuperate. He teaches her how to mingle with high society, dress and eat properly, and ensures the education of her son. In return for his decency and compassion, Jyoti prepares to marry Dr. Gupta. When her father arrives for the festivities, he recognizes Mukesh.

Besharam
In order to prevent honest Ramchandra from being elected as Mayor, Digvijay Singh alias Dharamdas sets his men upon him, his son, Ram Kumar, and his wife, all in vain, as Ramchandra wins. Shortly after his election, Ramchandra is framed and is forced to quit office after a scandal, and he hangs himself. Ram, his mom, and his sister, Chanda, re-locate and are not heard from again. Then a young man, Prince Chandrashekar from Johanneburg, South Africa, surfaces, claims he is a multi-millionaire, and would like to go into business with Digvijay Singh. This Prince also meets with Digvijay's sister and friend, Renuka, and Manju respectively and has an on-going affair with both at the same time. Digvijay is not happy with what's going on, and he asks his men to investigate the background of this Prince, and what they find will change Digvijay's life forever.
Bada Kabutar
In order to extract a huge sum of money from underworld don, Dharamdas, Mama Rampuri and his nephew, Bhola and others kidnap Dharamdas' child, not knowing that Dharamdas' love for money is far greater than his love for his child, and that Dharamdas himself is quite capable of kidnappings and murder himself.
