David Jeffries Garrow is an American author and democratic socialist. He wrote the book Bearing the Cross: Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, which won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for Biography.
A documentary following the civil rights movement and how the media, in particular the burgeoning TV, was used to fight for equality in the 1960s. From Selma to Charlottesville, we also see how modern activists use today's technology to continue fighting injustice today.
Based on newly declassified files, the film explores the US government’s surveillance and harassment of Martin Luther King, Jr.
