Javier comes to a town in search of work. There he meets a group of peasants led by Chivo, a stubborn man who distrusts him and does not allow him to work. Guided by strange dreams, Javier will fight against prejudice to win a place in the community.
Jorge (17) travels from Chiloé to Santiago to look for his unknown father, however, upon arrival he finds a disconcerting surprise that will turn his trip around.
Chile, 1814. During the independence war, a militia peasant wakes up deaf among the dead. As he wanders, he rescues a young hussar who has lost his sight in recent combat. Abandoned, they decide to return together to their homeland, avoiding irrational events that the war has left in its wake. However, as they move away from the battlefield, it’s their injuries and nature that silently threaten to break their will to survive.

One day, he is mugged and humiliated by a gang of thugs led by Kalule, a delinquent from his neighborhood. This event infuriates his son as much for Jorge’s meek acceptance as for the act itself. The authorities do nothing, so Jorge decides to take matters into his own hands.

It is then that Jorge reconsiders his damaged relationship with his father and children.
