Rainer has a miserable life. He works as a pizza delivery guy in a small eastern german town. Unhappy with his situation and apparently short on money he's also struggeling with the dementia of his mother, who he cares for. Soon he can't take it anymore having anything accomplished in his life. With his mother in a home and a self-made bomb in the back of his delivery scooter he's heading north to Berlin. The road trip begins.

Intern Annika gets the chance for a permanent position at the record company "GrandMusic". As a rehearsal, she is supposed to prepare the Finnish boy group "Ripili" for a youth competition in Germany. When the band arrives at the airport, Annika realizes that the band is the third-rate Finnish death metal band.

The sun blazes down from the sky with destructive power; exposing oneself to its light means death. People have transposed everyday existence to the night. In the metropolis of HALF WORLD a culture based on various languages and lifeforms has grown rampant. Everyone is looking for a way to survive.

Lisa has grown up in an orphanage. She is looking forward to her adoption, as she doesn't know that her new parents are about to divorce. The Saber-toothed cat which she meets in a museum intervenes as a "feles ex machina".

The old story with a slight twist: girl meets boy, frozen in stylized monologues, in whirring synthesizers, with the ghostly original sounds and excruciatingly slow camera movements.
