A shy young man, Tony, lives with his two aunts. The aunts are rather old-fashioned and, because they are very attached to their nephew, they prevent him from getting married. But that's without counting on two other cousins who are determined to find a wife for Tony and get him married.

The only thing Pol Rubens has in common with the Great Paul is his place of residence, Antwerp. Pol's problems begin when he loses his wallet and tries to get by with his broken German. His blunders land him and his friend on a ship full of criminals.

The film follows the spirited press photographer Jo Markus (played by Denise De Weerdt), who works for an Antwerp weekly magazine. Nicknamed "The Princess" because of her aristocratic mother, she teams up with two bumbling friends (De Woodpeckers, Jef and Cois Cassiers) to not only bring a gang of thieves to justice but also discover love along the way..

Gaston is a rather simple office clerk. He is about to marry and has just rented a new flat. Life is smiling upon him. Two Hungarian children, Ylonka and Ferenc, are taken in as foster children by a Flemish family during World War II. During the war, they are pursued by the occupiers because their foster parents joined the resistance and were arrested. At first, they try to earn money together and end up with the traveling painter Fedor, but various hardships separate them. Ylonka is sent to a reform institution, while Ferenc is taken in by kindly priests at their monastery. When, after the war, they finally have a father and mother who treat them as their own, a legal decree forces them back to Hungary.

Three carefree students set out on a summer road trip across the Flemish countryside in a battered old car, hoping for adventure, romance, and fun. Along the way, they encounter colorful local characters and a variety of regional dialects and customs. Their lighthearted journey takes an unexpected turn when they become entangled in a bizarre espionage chase involving a Russian atomic spy and an American counterintelligence agent. Mixing slapstick comedy, travel adventure, and Cold War parody, the film follows the young travelers through a series of absurd and chaotic summer escapades.
