Soundharam leaves his house and takes up work with Annamalai, a treacherous person. However, he finds himself in trouble after being falsely accused of various crimes committed by Annamalai.

Ten to twelve families from different walks of life, different age groups and different languages get together for a pilgrimage tour, starting from Tirupati and extending till Kanyakumari. The movie captures their experiences in the trip and how they develop oneness, with the common thread of religious bonding among them. The movie also highlights small anecdotes from mythology, thereby giving the movie a spiritual fervor.

A couple share a house with other three tenants who hail from different parts of the country. However, an unexpected turn of events changes the couple's dynamics with the tenants.

Justice Gopinath is a man known for his rigid upholding of the law and honesty. His wife Radha is pregnant, but she meets with an accident, resulting in the child being stillborn. One case that comes up before Gopinath is that of Murugan, who has been charged with assault and battery. Misled by false evidence, Gopinath sentences Murugan to imprisonment. Murugan's wife commits suicide, fearing the advances of the local landlord, and her infant son Ravi is orphaned. Gopinath conceals Ravi's true identity from him and raises him as his own son. Ravi grows up to become a lawyer. Meanwhile, Murugan is released from prison and searches for his son. Though beseeched by Radha not to do so, Gopinath is unable to lie and reveals to Ravi the truth about his parentage.

Karunamurthy (Kitty) an honest man and the Home Minister of the state of Tamil Nadu is forced to help the terrorists to kill the Governor. Nethaaji (Sarathkumar) a journalist and a press owner runs a newspaper called 'India'. He comes to know that the Home Minister is involved in the Governor's murder and tries to investigate it. In the course of his investigation he too gets involved with the terrorists and is forced to kidnap the scientist Shivashankari. Now the police are out to get Nethaaji. Nethaaji runs from pillar to post to prove himself innocent. Will he be able to prove himself innocent? Will he be able to expose the sinister plans of the terrorists, or will he pay the prize for a crime which he never committed?

The film start had in its title sequence in which a Politician is killed by a Suicide bomber who explodes her explosive belt. C. I. D. Shankar and his assistant Raju(Thengai Srinivasan is deputed to the Nilgiris to investigate a case of mysterious murder. C. I. D. Ashokan(Pakkirisamy) also stay for the town, who pose at research of herbal, his close relation of lover's club dancer Reeta(Jayakumari). Ashokan finds all truth and he goes to Nagamalai estate, where he gives lift to a young girl who explodes her belt.Ashokan gives diary and locker key to Vithya(Sakunthala) who saves his life and admits him in the hospital. But unfortuneately ashokan was killed by the mysterious gang in hospital. Vithya gives the things to Shankar and both fall in love. Raju falls in love with actress Rama(Kumari Radha), who also stays in the same hotel. Shankar meet Reeta and asks her to help him. She gives information to his assistant Raju and later on she is killed by the same mysterious gang.
