Nine-year-old Alisha is tired of being the only girl on the rugby pitch, but after clashing with yet another boy unwilling to lose to her, she realises how important it is for her to keep playing.

The story unfolds over the course of a day in a surreal East London. Rat King, an eccentric and unusual pest controller, and his trusting and enthusiastic apprentice River drive a van from one place to another in the city, carrying out their daily work.
