Christian Steyer (*6. Dezember 1946 in Falkenstein, Vogtland, Sachsen) ist ein deutscher Schauspieler, Sprecher, Musiker und Filmkomponist. Der Sohn eines Pfarrers wuchs in Meißen, Grimma und Oschatz auf. Bereits als Kind spielte er Klavier und Orgel und erhielt Musikunterricht von seinem Vater, zudem sang er im Meißener Domchor. Mit dreizehn Jahren kam er in die Kinderförderklasse des Leipziger Musikkonservatoriums. Von 1965 bis 1970 studierte er Musik mit dem Hauptfach Klavier in Leipzig und Dresden bei Amadeus Webersinke; von 1970 bis 1972 schloss sich ein zweijähriges Schauspielstudium an der Staatlichen Schauspielschule Berlin an, das er mit der Bühnenreifeprüfung abschloss. Seit 1972 arbeitet er als freischaffender Schauspieler, Sänger, Pianist und Komponist. Seine erste Filmrolle spielte er 1972 in Es ist eine alte Geschichte; 1973 war er in Die Legende von Paul und Paula zu sehen. Ab Mitte der 1970er Jahre wurde Steyer auch als Komponist für Film- und Fernsehproduktionen tätig, zunächst 1974 für den Kinderfilm Der Untergang der Emma. Auch nach der deutschen Wiedervereinigung blieb Steyer weiter als Schauspieler und Film- und Fernsehkomponist erfolgreich. Seit 1993 ist er Lehrbeauftragter für Präsentation, Schauspiel und Sprecherziehung an der Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ Berlin. Seit 2003 ist er Off-Sprecher der Doku-Soap Elefant, Tiger & Co. im Mitteldeutschen Rundfunk. Für seine Musik zum Kinder- und Jugendfilm Die Blindgänger wurde er beim Festival Goldener Spatz 2005mit dem Goldenen Spatzenfuß für die beste Filmmusik ausgezeichnet.

Eleven-year-old Jella lives with her mother in a rural idyll in which both feel at home and comfortable. Then, however, they move to the city where her father works. On parting, her friend Freitag presents Jella with a pair of pigeons. Although Jella is looking forward to life in the city, she is unable to accustom herself to her new surroundings. She is being picked on by the other children, and a neighbor′s son even releases her pigeons. They fly back to Freitag who returns them to Jella. When Jella visits the village one day, she is disappointed to learn that she has become a stranger there, as well.
