A world in which no violins play in the sky when two people kiss. Johann Steiner, alias Joe, earns his living as a fall fruit fighter in boxing. For Joe, life is a personal war in which everyone is against him anyway. This changes when he meets Rosa one night during a fight. An extreme athlete falls while climbing and ends up living with a doctor who performs surgery on himself. He turns out to be an alcoholic who loses his medical license shortly thereafter. In her attempt to help him overcome his addiction, she loses touch with her friends.
