"'The Women of Titmouse Animation,' an award-winning short by Chrissy Guest, tells the story of a diverse group of female creatives in various independent studio roles and examines their pathways to success. Their educational experiences and other factors in career trajectory are questoned while their perseverance will inspire future generations.
This docuseries tells the story of female animation pioneers in both past and present days, looking into the challenges they have faced and the progress they have made while exploring the obstacles that still exist. Highlighting the determination and passion that moved women out of the ink & paint department and into the role of animator and beyond, the docuseries seeks to inspire the next generation of animation storytellers, while questioning the inequality between men and women within the creative workforce of animation.
The film is a science fiction love story that explores the intersection of technology and humanity, following a young woman from a future where people have suppressed their emotions as she enters a simulation of the past. There, she discovers the feelings that make us human and finds herself falling in love.
