Blonde admired Brune's intransigence, who loved Blonde's spontaneity. Blonde had known how to say "yes" and enjoy the secondary benefits of her moral weakness (having a husband, children, in short, something like life)... Brunette had known how to say "no" and patiently suffer the inconveniences of her greatness. But now, after ten years of separation, Blonde arrives at her friend's house and the opportunity arises for both of them to try on each other's lives like trying on a dress.
Alexis Pasquier, a young French teacher, begins his first day of classes at the Nancy prison. There he meets Léa, a young woman with whom he falls madly in love. Two worlds open up to him: true love and the prison environment. He will never be the same anymore.
A few months after May '68, Robert, a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure and a far-left activist, decides to get a job at Citroën as a line worker. Like other comrades, he wants to infiltrate the factory to rekindle the revolutionary fire, but the majority of workers no longer want to hear about politics. When Citroën decides to pay back the Grenelle Agreements by requiring workers to work 3 hours overtime per week for free, Robert and some others see the possibility of a social movement.
Whilst seeking out locations in the South of France for his next film, director Luc Moullet comes across a male corpse. He immediately decides to use this to his advantage. By swapping his passport with that of the dead man, Moullet hopes that the world will believe he is dead, thereby ensuring a renewed interest in his work. Unfortunately, the scheme backfires, since the dead man was someone rather important...
