Maynard touched the lives of musicians around the world in a way that cannot be explained, but celebrated. Trumpet player, friend and personal manager, Steve Schankman worked with Maynard's family and alumni musicians to develop a one of a kind tribute - a true labor of love and a celebration of Maynard's life as one of the greats in jazz history. Held September 20, 2006 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Touhill Performing Arts Center in St. Louis, this tribute Concert brought together more than 30 alumni artists from Maynard's fifty plus years of entertaining audiences around the world. In a manner of words, the tribute was the ultimate symphony dedicated to a man they called "The Boss". His dedication to education and his pure love of sound made Maynard the kind of performer these musicians strive to be today. He is a beloved hero, entertainer, bandleader, mentor and friend whose legend will live on in every trumpet note.

A marine musical comedy from Denmark. The radio operator, Hjalmar Olsen, lives in Nyboder. The celebrated actor George Bergmann has four divorces behind him. When his four former wives get the impression that he is cozying up to a very young actress, they feel that they must take action. However, this leads to various misunderstandings and complications, which partly involves the former wives' new men and partly the young girl's strict parents.

What could be more beautiful and delightful than the Danish summer when it shows itself from its best side? Director Rasmus Strang enjoys it at his country house with his two daughters, Ulla and Linda. Ulla, the eldest daughter from Rasmus Strang's first marriage, runs the household with a firm hand and keeps her stepsister Linda isolated and unnoticed. Linda is not allowed to go out. Linda is not allowed to have new, stylish clothes.


An American gangster nicknamed "English Joe" has fled across the Mexican border with his gang, consisting of four men in addition to himself. The American police are after them because of a bank robbery in which they killed several of the bank's employees. But "English Joe" soon comes up with a new plan that can bring them to safety for a while and at the same time give them the opportunity for a new coup. An old engineer who has worked at a weapons factory in Mexico has traveled home to his own country to complete an epoch-making invention: the silent machine gun. The men are ordered to Denmark, where the old engineer now lives.
