In Evanstown, a suburb of Chicago, Romanos & Juliatos, two pizza places, have competed for the town’s business for years. When both restaurants hand over the reins to the next generation—Riley and Sarah —after Pizza Den, a new pizza chain moves into town, the new bosses struggle to continue the rivalry after they begin to fall for one another.

Two slackers try to find out what is happening to missing people in their town.

In an imagined battle between the United States and the fictional Latin American country of Cubuchilia, an American soldier has control over water resources and news media on both sides of the war. This depressed white soldier profits monetarily by the continuation of the war, and therefore ensures the battle endures through his power over the water and news. Inadvertently, he causes all the soldiers on both sides to perish, and thus the war ends. He then, through his media control, presents himself as the hero of the conflict and the savior of the United States.

Graphic design firm owner Kris is devastated when she discovers her husband, Ritchie, shot dead in their home. She assumes it has to do with Ritchie's work in high-level intelligence. But as Kris prepares for the funeral, she learns that Ritchie's stories about his missions were a cover for a secret family a few hours away. When police begin to suspect Kris for the murder and an attempt is made on her life, she must overcome her distrust of Ritchie's other wife to find out who killed him—and who is now trying to kill her.

A down-on-his-luck busking street musician books his first paid music gig and will do whatever it takes to make it, all while he tries to avoid the local extortionist that is looking to collect the money he is owed.
