Kosovo 1999. A line of refugees stops at a Serbian checkpoint. Serbian paramilitaries pull Adem and two boys, his son and his grandson, out of the car. Adem tries to pay for the children's lives, but he doesn't have enough money. They tell him that he can only save one child with this money. He must decide which one to save.
