Woodcutter Rıza gets embroiled in a property dispute with his relative, Satılmışoğlu İbrahim, that will last for years. Rıza is legally entitled to half of the Satılmışoğlu family’s estate. However, İbrahim Ağa uses a deed in his possession to stall Rıza for years. After Rıza’s death, his daughter Hatice takes over the property dispute. Ibrahim Ağa’s son, Kamber, is prepared to try every means to turn the case in his favor.

After Women in Turkey gained the right to be elected, Sultan, one of the women of the village in a countryside, works hard to be elected as Muhtar, first by learning how to read-write. On her success to election, not only her husband but also the men of the village stand as the biggest handicap.

Elif and Doğan, who love each other, want to get married. However, Elif’s father considers giving his daughter to someone else. Doğan kidnaps Elif, and they get married. As time goes on, rumors begin to spread in the village about Elif and Doğan, who have no children. Unable to bear these rumors, Doğan’s father will want to remarry his son.

A family of three from the countryside comes to Istanbul, spends all their money, and buys a janitor's job in an apartment building. However, when the building is demolished due to expropriation, the family realizes they have been swindled. The family, now in dire straits, takes refuge in a shantytown in Gültepe. This time, municipal crews demolish their homes with bulldozers. When her beloved daughter is killed under a car, the woman loses her mind.
