Børge Møller Grimstrup var oprindeligt uddannet og arbejdede som mejerist indtil han i en alder af næsten 40 år debuterede som skuespiller. Han blev uddannet på Eyvind Johan-Svendsens elevskole og fik sin teaterdebut på Frederiksberg Teater i 1945. Han optrådte på flere teatre i provinsen og i København bl.a. på Ungdommens Teater og Landsskolescenen, hvor han i 1967 spillede skolelæreren i Max Friis stykke "Andorra". Rollen som mælkekusken der mister sin hest i Don Olsen kommer til byen var som syet til Børge Møller Grimstrup. Børge Møller Grimstrup hører til den række af skuespillere som man husker, bare man nævner en rolle. Den rare købmand i Far til fire i byen, der giver Lille Per et stykke sukker til hunden. Den hjertevarme kusk i Charles tante. Den arrige pensionist i Støv på hjernen, hvis eneste replik er: Stille. Hans største virke var på teater og på TV, hvor han havde roller i "Præsten i Vejlby" og i TV-serierne "Regnvejr og ingen penge" og i "Smuglerne".

Bank director L.W. Jacobsen resides in a small provincial town. He is not particularly interested in his wife, Elsebeth, but rather in teacher and city council member Miss Mortensen. Thorsen, the town's manufacturer, is a member of the same city council group as Jacobsen. Then Don Olsen comes to town. Olsen is not interested in the upper class, but rather in people. By chance, Thorsen and Olsen meet and soon become drinking buddies. Thorsen drags the milkman's horse home to his apartment in the middle of the night. The scandal is a reality. Thorsen wants to flee, but with Olsen's help, he instead woos the townspeople and Miss Mortensen under the motto "Make good times better."

About the young Aarhus businessman Jacob Hansen who is going to a congress in Copenhagen. His competitor in the firm sends his secretary over to spy and bring Jacob into disrepute. The secretary has sympathy for Jacob, creating complications when his wife show up.

The old doctor, Dr. Bonnesen, is a tired old man. He wants to sell his practice and has been corresponding with the young doctor Jens Winther. Jens arrives in Fjorslev to discuss a possible takeover of Bonnesen's practice and his patients. Bonnesen's beautiful young housekeeper, Anne Mette Krogh, welcomes him. Bonnesen takes a liking to Jens Winther and makes him an offer he cannot refuse.
The milk driver Hans loves his horse Snow White so much that he takes it on holiday to the Danish summer country. Along the way, they are joined by a young American girl, and together they experience Danish culture and nature - and a romantic meeting leads to a wedding. In inner Copenhagen, in the real old town, in greengrocer Mortensen's property right under Tagskægget, live three good friends: painter Richard Hansen, painter Steffen, sculptor Max, and their friend Louise Mørch. All three have something very boring in common: they are unknown and penniless. Suddenly, it seems that luck is smiling on them. Charlottenborg has accepted the painting that Richard submitted. Excited, he heads to the exhibition, only to discover that the selection committee has accepted the two packing box lids he used to protect his painting, lids that he uses every day to wipe his brushes on.

Lilleper is starting school, and on the last day of summer vacation, his father invites the whole family to a party at Tivoli. But then everything goes wrong. Per doesn't like school. Søs falls out with Peter, Mie is accused of theft, and his father is fired from his job and talks about selling the house. Everyone is looking forward to a sad Christmas, but maybe Lilleper will still go to the "Christmas Ball in Nisseland."

One day, the young farmer Jesper Poulsen arrives to propose to Else. His girlfriend has let him down, so he comes with honest intentions—to be good to Else and get the farm back on its feet. Else gives birth to twins, two boys, Viggo and Martin, but she dies in childbirth, leaving Jesper alone with his two boys. Viggo and Martin grow up to be two handsome men who are also inseparable friends—until they fall in love with the same girl...

Søren is looking forward to a relaxing camping holiday with his wife, Marianne. But nothing goes as planned, when his two daughters and mother-in-law join them.

Charles and Peter have passed their law degree and are looking forward to wooing a few girls in the country. For that, they need a chaperone and persuade their fellow student Ditlev to play Charles's aunt from Brazil. Ditlev has a talent for acting and takes the role very seriously, but when Charles's real aunt turns up, things get complicated.

Martin returns home with a good sum of money in his pocket after working in Greenland. He settles down with his sister, who runs the inn – but much has changed. He is most disappointed that his childhood sweetheart Martha has married Just Hovmand, who owns the Lunehøj farm. Martin starts a machine station and is immediately ready to help Martha and her husband when they run into financial difficulties. But stubborn Just refuses to accept money from Martha's former boyfriend. As usual in a good Morten Korch film, there are a couple of pleasant 'cousins' – Chr. Arhoff and Peter Malberg – and they come up with many good solutions...
