Cruel and brave Brazilian outlaw called Corisco, living in the backcountry in the Northeast, an arid region, rapes 12-year-old Dadá, who becomes his woman, following him and his gang. Although they were supposed to fight against social injustice, they terrorized the small villages along their way.
Cosme and Maria, with their son Benedito and nephews Matheuzinho and Bruna, jump into a somewhat untrustworthy Jeep to go on a journey from the coastline to Barbalha city, where they plan to attend a special feast that they've always longed to take part in. Today the new residents and the descendants of the first patients live in a territory marked by irregular occupation and real estate speculation, crossed by the stigma of the disease in the past and the precarious current reality.
