The movie revolves around a typical Pakistani family living in Toronto, Canada. The family is busy in organising a desi wedding for their two sons in Toronto.

Azra is worlds apart from her conservative Muslim mother. When her father suddenly dies on a trip home to Pakistan, Azra finds herself on a Bollywood-inspired journey through memories, both real and imagined; from her mother’s youth in Karachi to her own coming- of-age in rural Canada.

Zia Mohyeddin, Pakistan's most venerated actor, devotes his final years to resurrecting interest in Urdu poetry and passing it on to a new generation of South Asians.
