El Yazısı follows three stories on a day when the town is welcoming its very first foreign English teacher. As an accidental tourist is mistaken for her, the wind of change starts to blow.

Nisantasi is a classy Istanbul residential district. Its inhabitants may be rich and beautiful but they are not necessarily happy. This is the case for 52-year-old architect Can and his wife Ela, an artist who is already past her creative prime. Their daughter Nil has left home to study in Ankara. Left to their own devices, the couple realise that their passion for each other is not what it once was. Nonetheless they both feel secure in the safe harbour of a marriage which places no demands for critical questions or complex explanations. A cod-Freudian drama (from a novel by Erhan Bener) about an Istanbul police chief who dreams back over his life while dying in an ambulance bound for hospital.

In a wooded area, the bodies of many young people who died for different reasons are found. A young commissioner with severe insomnia is tasked with solving these murders.

Ayşin, a young teacher, conducts internet research on the village to which she has been assigned and comes across terrifying news stories about incidents involving jinns in the past. At a farewell party organized for Ayşin by her friends, a discussion on this topic turns into an argument, and a session of summoning jinns with a cup leads to tense and frightening moments from which there is no escape. Ayşin arrives at the village only at night and, after a short journey filled with uneasy and mysterious moments, stays as a guest with Fatma Ana. Ayşin learns from Fatma Ana that the village is preparing for a wedding. After falling asleep on the first night, Ayşin wakes up each time to relive the night, experiencing three nights filled with terrifying and tense nightmares so convincing she cannot distinguish them from reality. Ayşin, who tries to escape the village, will realize that the wedding preparations are being made for her own torment.

As they say, dreams are worth the world. This is such a journey, back to the days of old Istanbul and the heart of Istanbul, Beyoğlu, a journey back in time.
