The story takes place in the back streets of Galata . MELI, a transvestite who works as a singer in a classy nightclub, finds an abandoned baby on his way back from work one early morning and takes him home.

Two rebels battle an evil king in a fantasy medieval Turkish kingdom. Identifying tattoos, galley slavery, stoning, beheadings, sword fights abound. A disneyesque fantasy history yarn, except for the rather extreme violence.

A portrait of a young, depressed Turkish widow in the slums whose infinite dignity alone looks after her orphan kids is depicted by the son of the town sheriff, who is in love with her.
