On India's 1991 election day, a killer hunts down ten meddlesome people threatening to untangle a web of deceitful secrets about twin sisters.

Anwar, a maverick detective works in a small detective agency in Kolkata. He has a habit of getting involved in the personal lives of his cases. In one such instance, he takes a case in his rural homeland and is forced to confront his own romantic tragedy.

The way that people are used as bait is explored through three stories about three different characters.

Ghawre Bairey Aaj is inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's novel 'Ghawre Bairey' (Home and the World) and is a contemporary retelling of love triangle involving Tagore's characters Nikhilesh, Sandip and Bimala.
