After the Spanish Civil War breaks out, the Prado Museum is being evacuated. One of the guards finds a painting by the master, Goya, and takes it to prevent damage to the work of art. In the interim, he meets a young lady with whom he falls in love. Assisted by her and her family members, the soldier attempts to save Goya's masterpiece intact amidst the war and violence.
Nacho, a young man in his mid-thirties, is losing control of his life. In order to finance his various addictions, he has accumulated large debts with dangerous moneylenders. Fearing he no longer has control over himself, he flees to the city, leaving everything behind. There, he meets a woman who is older than him and falls in love with her. Lucia is very supportive of his development into a better and more adult Nacho. As Nacho’s mother is lying on her deathbed, he is forced to return home and face everything he had left behind.
Lucía, a club dancer on the run, takes refuge in a sinister building on the outskirts of Madrid where her sister Rocío lives with her daughter Alba.
Vera and Lucas, a frustrated couple in their forties, find a huge apartment at half the usual price thanks to a “bare ownership” deal: they buy it now, but the elderly owner will keep living there until he dies. What seemed like a miraculous opportunity soon turns into an obsession when Jesús disappears, reappears changed, and stops behaving like someone on his last legs. Caught between suspicion, frustration, and increasingly dark humor, the couple begins to consider a plan as absurd as it is tempting.
