In 1971, two young entrepeneurs decide to organize a race car with lots of indie rock bands livening up the event in Avandaro, Mexico. When only 25 thousand tickets are sold but more than 200 thousand people arrive, things start to get out of control.

Theo, a young American, moves to Mexico on a whim without telling his family. As he navigates his new life, new home, and new friends (and ignores his mother's worried calls) he's forced to reconcile his desire to discover himself with the noticeable lack of any sort of plan.
