The story starts with the scene where Goutam Chatterjee is escaping from jail. Goutam is a freedom fighter and political leader. When Goutam is escaping, he takes shelter in Ruchira Banerjee's house. Ruchira's father Rajbahadur. R. C. Banerjea is a police officer. Goutam gets away from there. In the meantime, Ruchira leaves her house because her father forces her against her wish to get married to Subir. After that, suddenly Ruchira meets Goutam again. They become friends and they move from one place to another together. And the story continues with suspense at every turn.
Shyamali, who is both hearing and speech impaired, faces several struggles in life. While the man she marries supports her, she is not accepted by her in-laws.
The Mukherjee family's daughter, Maya, is engaged to Nanda but notices his growing attraction to Shukla. Maya convinces Shukla to help, and Shukla successfully reunites Maya and Nanda. However, Maya's mother dislikes Shukla. Shukla then falls in love with Maya's brother, Dilip, but faces opposition from Dilip's mother. Despite challenges, Shukla's love and sacrifice ultimately win over the family, uniting them.
Ravi and Masha are just children when they were sold into labour by their parents. When they meet, friendship blossoms between them but when the factory manager threatens to sell Masha, possibly into sex slavery, Ravi gives up his hard earned savings to buy her freedom. They agree on a way to find each other once Ravi has earned enough money to buy his freedom but a series of misunderstandings and fear tear them apart. Though they now have their freedom in life, they have to find their way in love.
In order to treat his visually impaired son, mill owner Jethia forges some documents to acquire the eyes donated by Jadunath, one of his workers who was wrongfully framed for a couple of murders and sentenced to death.
