Ari Leschnikoff was born as Asparuh Leshnikow in Haskovo, then Principality of Bulgaria. He was a famous Bulgarian tenor singer, who gained international prominence as a member of the all-male German close harmony ensemble Comedian Harmonists.
Simultaneously made French version of "Ihre Hoheit Befiehlt": An officer, posing as a deli clerk, and a princess, posing as a manicurist, meet at a ball. The court especially the prime minister oppose a marriage, for political reasons.
