Archana is an Indian film actress and accomplished Kuchipudi and Kathak dancer, known for her works in theSouth Indian film industry. She has won the National Film Award for Best Actress, twice for her work in Veedu in Tamil and Daasi in Telugu.
The film is set in a tribal village in Kerala where religious superstition and ignorance maintain stasis. A relatively intelligent boy escapes its oppressive confines and later returns, determined to bring enlightenment to the village.
