A motley group of Chinese prisoners held in the US is sent on a covert mission with the promise of a pardon: to go deep into Vietnam and destroy a secret depot of missiles that the US left behind during the pull-out.

Interpol officer Dickson Kwan is sent to Hong Kong to investigate in a fake passport forgery case and collaborates with officer Pau Sei and Lau Ting Kin. Due to different approaches on investigating, Dickson and Sei often get into conflicts. Later during an arrest operation, Dickson saves Sei's life and they forget about their bygones. Sei has a daughter Eva, who opposes his father to be a cop. Dickson falls in love with Eva and pursues her, however she does not like Dickson's dangerous profession and although she has feelings for him, she still rejects him.

Three female cops form a special unit and get their main witness out of the clutches of a gang. The witness holds the key to Chu Chung Sing, a gang-lord who runs a night-club. They will have to face a ruthless but sentimental killer.

A country boy becomes the head of a gang through the purchase of some lucky roses from an old lady. He and a singer at the gang's nightclub try to do a good deed for the old lady when her daughter comes to visit.

Despite each having their own ideas on how best to proceed, they are teamed together and must put aside their differences in order to crack the case. Romance, plot twists, comedic asides, and, of course, plenty of fights bring the film to a climatic and bruising conclusion
