An unnamed village in the Podlasie region. The inhabitants lease out land which does not technically belong to them, but so far the operation has proceeded without problems. They keep to themselves, in seclusion, without interaction with the outside world. Then, suddenly, a nameless Stranger arrives. Given the situation of the village, none of the inhabitants know how to act, worried that the Strangers intentions might not be as harmless as promised. Krzysztof, the self-appointed Mayor and protector of the village, takes it upon himself to show the Stranger around, carefully avoiding the locals resistance. Together with a local driver, and his neighbour, a man who left the city for the country side, they silently circle the village, full of anxiety, not knowing the Strangers reason for being here...

Roman Cudakowski, for his friends Cudak, plays in a band at weddings and city parties. During the occupation, the musician did not do well. Entrances to the premises for Germans are an opportunity to earn money. However, they cannot imagine themselves orchestras without a violinist. Cudak takes the gifted Szymon Akerman out of the ghetto to concerts, with whom he did not agree before the war. In the new reality, they both need each other: Cudak can earn money by playing with Akerman, has a chance to survive. One day, Roman decides to permanently take the violinist and his family from the ghetto and hide them, risking his life, in his home.

The action of the film begins in the 1970s – even then, the young protagonist knows that adrenaline tastes better than powdered milk. Over time, he also discovers a desire for money, power, and being above the law. A transformation begins, and his gangster talent blossoms. Together with a friend, they build their own army.

When, despite being in your thirties, you are still living with your parents. When you're short of cash, your girlfriends aren't getting along, and your life increasingly tastes of cheap discount beer - then you recognize that it's high time to finally change something. Such conclusions are reached in unison by Albert, Marcin and Jacek - three buddies from the housing estate, who, after a series of business disasters, finally come up with an idea on how to make a nice profit. Thus is born a plan for a daring plot that will lead the heroes into the middle of a big wedding, where not only money, but also a chance for a hot romance awaits them. Along the way, all they have to do is not to spoil anything. And with that, as we all know, things can vary. Sometimes it's easier said than done to do something yourself.
