Piotr manages to buy a splendid though dilapidated villa from the eccentric 80-year-old painter Mimi. The woman treats him like her long-lost only son whereas Piotr tries to send her away to old people's home.

Years later, Lena returns to Poland, accompanied by a French journalist, to learn the truth about her father.

The commemorative clock left by the Germans brings back memories of her native Kresy, the Nowosiolo estate and the beginning of her love with the Polish settler - Antoni.

The destination: Smolensk. However, as the day draws to a close, unimaginable sadness and pain will invade these dozens of homes and apartments. Feelings that will be shared by the entire nation.

Set in a small Polish town coming-of-age story of Marcin, a 21-year-old with a penchant for James Dean and The Smiths. After the death of his father, Marcin must contend with the funeral arrangements while hosting his buffoonish out-of-town relatives who disparage his small town life as a mechanic in his father's garage. In addition, Marcin must face the news that his lifelong girlfriend has decided to leave Poland to live in the U.S. If he doesn't act quickly, he may never see her again.

A homeless 60-year-old man learns that he doesn't have much life left. All he cares about now is securing a future for his dog. So he goes to his hometown; to the relatives he abandoned many years ago. Will they want to talk to him?
