A woman lives in a small village in Russia. One day she receives the parcel she sent to her husband, serving a sentence in prison. Confused and angered, she sets out to find why her package was returned to sender.

Five friends – a poet, an actor, a painter, an architect and a primitivist film director – are five red avant-garde artists who try to find the embodiment of their hopes and dreams in the young Soviet state. The Revolution is boiling up like a bottle with apple cider: winged service dogs and heart-shaped potatoes, dead Semashko, the People’s Commissar for Health, and cheerful angels, love for the Tsar and love for the young secretary Annushka, executions and pregnancies – everything is interlaced and inseparable!

On assignment from the editorial office a reporter from Yekaterinburg goes to a village lost in taiga, where he hears an ancient legend about the lord of the forest. Upon his return home all of a sudden he starts seeing and hearing the ancient spirit who begs him to save the endangered fantastic creatures. The reporter agrees and in the company of his 12-year-old daughter, who has come from Moscow to spend the vacation with him, he sets off for the lands virtually untouched by civilization. The trip filled with unexpected adventures, will bring the father and daughter closer together because it’s only together that they will be able to solve the mystery of the ancient legends from the past.

What is March 8th? It's spring, the sun, tulips, mom's smile and the anticipation of falling in love and happiness. There is also a fuss, congratulations, queues in shops, flowers and an endless race for gifts. Every year, on this day, there is a global collapse in which everything is dedicated to women. The most ordinary people who face extraordinary situations, and unplanned meetings radically change their lives.
