Rie was studying secretarial work at a vocational school. When her father was hospitalized, she decided to quit school and work to earn money for his medical expenses. Her father had secretly helped her find a job at a trading company, and she was invited to work in the company's secretarial department. She met with the president, Kondo, and was officially hired.
