14th installment in Broadway's "Honto ni Atta Kowai Hanashi" series.

Set in Nagano Prefecture, the movie stars Shingo Mizusawa (8000 Miles) as an awkward 28-year-old temporary factory worker named Kaji; a character partially modeled after the perpetrator of the 2008 Akihabara massacre. His social interactions are limited to his postings on internet message boards until he starts hanging out with a co-worker named Tanaka (Shohei Uno) who suffers from the debilitating sleep disorder narcolepsy. The pair become involved in a predicament when they attempt to protect a girl named named Yuri (Ai Tamura) from their other co-worker Okada (Yasushi Fuchikami).

May 5th.2010: the day is a special day for Honoka because the day is when her mother, Yoko, died on her 24th birthday. Her inner fear of being alive at her mother’s age troubles her. Honoka’s hatred for the father, Kotaro began the day when her mother passed away. During Yoko’s death, Kotaro was not anywhere to be found when her mother and did not even return for the funeral. However, there is a little secret not yet to reveal to Honoka. Honoka, how would she feel on her birthday, after finding out all these facts? What’s the miracle of love she receives at the end?

Koji carries an emotional wound from a missing childhood friend Sayoko, who disappeared when they were junior high school students. He left his hometown to forget about her and now, five years later, he goes to a grad school in Tokyo. One day, he gets a phone call from a former classmate and hears about the death of Sayoko's father. To attend his funeral, Koji returns to his hometown...
