An Egyptian actor, born in 1894. He began his artistic career in the mid-thirties and played supporting roles, often as the pasha, judge or doctor. Among his notable films are If I Were Rich (1942), The Hero (1950), and Dahab (1953).

Hikmat disguises herself as a man after her brother suffered a tragic accident while on his way to start his work. She pretends to be teacher for the children of the Pasha instead of her brother. Hikmat gets to know the children whom she teaches and becomes Mr. Hikmat.
One of the earliest Iraqi films, the plot revolves around a young Iraqi man working as a writer who flees to Cairo after being accused of murdering his uncle. Raouf marries her after he is certain that his love for her is stronger than his love for Yasriya.
