Arnis Rītups has become an urban legend of Riga— a provocative philosopher, publisher of the magazine Rigas Laiks, and the creator of such peculiar projects as House of Fools. But what truly lies behind his persona? Is it a deliberately constructed provocative image, or his genuine nature?
The 1960s brought hope for the huge Soviet empire - a hope that the regime will become more humane. The optimism and youthful energy of the decade became the prevailing mood. Renewal of life vibrated in Latvia. The newly built Riga Film Studio was a strong impulse to the development of national cinematic art. A new generation full of energy came into the Latvian film industry; they created a style of documentary cinema that we now call Riga poetic documentary cinema (or Riga style).

Little Devils revolves around two mischievous devils who make their way up from hell to a farmhouse in Latvia. The devils start pulling devilish pranks, such as putting the farmer to bed in the barn, and the bull to bed beside the farmer’s wife. When two thieves enter the scene, chaos ensues as they discover "the farmer" is a monster and "the bull" can talk.

On Saturday night Mother Rabbit takes her children to the bathhouse in the forest, but their happy bathtime ritual is disturbed when a dog dashing through the mist accidentally runs into the bathhouse. The little rabbits scatter in different directions, but in the end everyone falls asleep in their own cradles.
