An uncle and his nephew travel to the capital to sell fruits and vegetables. On the way, they sell a sack of “thyme” that was meant for someone else. It turns out the sack didn’t actually contain thyme. Escaping from the owner of this deposit — worth millions — turns out to be a complicated matter.
“Urban Motives 4.1” is an anthology film consists of 5 short movies by 5 Azerbaijani directors. The first, by Anar Abbasov, is about a relationship between a man and women who live next door; second, by Ru Hasanov, is about a life of a musician who is different from others with his mentality; third, by Teymur Ismayilov, tells a story of a young worker who has his own dreams; fourth, by Jafar Akhundzade, is about traumas caused by war; and the last one, by Vugar Islamzadeh, is a story about a criminal group and an officer who wants to take revenge.
After being falsely arrested, the main character is put in Guantanamo, a place similar to Alcatraz prison. He thinks of a plan to escape to prove his innocence. But it is impossible to escape from this prison.
The film is about war in Garabagh and when we look at wounded solider we see our son, brother or father.
The movie tells about the fate of young people, about their pure love and desire for friendship. Falling into the net of dirty people, only love saves them from death.
January 1990, Baku. The Soviet Union hasn't collapsed yet. Around 300 thousand Azeri have been forsed out from their homes in Armenia and Daghlig Garabagh. Rallies of protest, political meetings spring up in Baku. The old patriarch, Ismail gathers under his roof distant relatives, people of different nationalities, beliefs, and ideas. The old man is tortured by everything happening around him: unrest in the city as well as discord and discarder in his own overpopulated apartment. All his efforts to preserve the family are in vain. People want to live separately. Former friends become bitter enemies because of the senseless aggression.
A wealthy man, who is financially depend on his wife, hits the car to kill himself. Car owners and friends bring the man home. After the man wakes up, he asks them to kill him and even offers money. Describing the gap and difference between rich and poor, the short film surprises everyone with unexpected final.

Meanwhile, a simple villager named Hozu accidentally gets involved in the situation and, imagining himself as "Agent 007," joins the professionals in the search. The contrast between Hozu's naivety and Sarvat’s serious world adds an amusing touch and adventure to the story.
