
Acting
Abke Haring won a Golden Calf Award for Best Actor at the Dutch Film Festival Utrecht 2024. She won this Award for her lead performance in the drama series Een van Ons, directed by Michiel van Erp. She is a much acclaimed actor in The Netherlands and Belgium, who won the prestigious Theo d’Or award for her portrayal of Hamlet in Hamlet vs Hamlet in 2014. She starred in many plays for diverse theatercompanies like International Theater Amsterdam, Toneelhuis, NTGent and Frascati. She worked with Ivo van Hove, Guy Cassiers, Luk Perceval, Floor Houwink ten Cate and many more inspiring directors on stage. Abke also writes for theater and is known for her physical performances. She starred in series and films such as Fenix (2017), Primus (2022) Piece of my Heart (2022) and Splendid Isolation (2022) which premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2022. Currently Abke can be seen next to Jacob Derwig in Panic Room, directed by Floor Houwink ten Cate for Theater Utrecht, with whom she also made Sea of Silence. She will reprise her role in Brideshead Revisited (2023) for theater group De Warme Winkel on the Dutch Theater Festival and in Belgium.

In 1988, three young gay men, Ronnie, Lennart and Bas, throw themselves into Amsterdam's nightlife scene. It’s a life full of friendship, sex and drugs. Until the mysterious AIDS virus casts a shadow over their lives and one of them disappears after becoming infected. Thirty-two years later, in the middle of the 2021 lockdown, Ronnie recognises the missing Bas in the subway. An evening unfolds that none of them had expected to see, but which had been in the air for years. The AIDS epidemic has had a major impact on all three of their lives. Where they lost each other 32 years ago, they hope to find each other again.
