1917. Walt has lost his legs in battle, but not his spirit. Recovering in hospital back in the States, he is trapped, and surrounded by tragedy. Only his flirtation with Grace, a nurse on his ward, lightens his frustration. Resolving to escape, he takes flight in a bold bid for freedom.
